Capricorn's Rising Star Apprentice of the Year!

Posted by Marty Jarrett at 2:44pm, Friday 31st August, 2018
In May 2018 we nominated our Apprentice Kadus Taratoa into the Capricorn Society's "Rising Star - Apprentice of the Year Award" for Australia and New Zealand. This award is to recognise, reward and retain high performing apprentices. These are apprentices who show initiative in the workshop, eagerness to learn and commitment to the auto industry.

There were over 500 applicants across Australia and New Zealand. The judges narrowed it down to 250, and from there had to pick the top 10. Our apprentice Kadus was one of the top 10, which is a huge achievement.

In July we heard back from the judges of the competition. Unfortunately Kadus didnt make it into the top 5, however we were advised he placed about 6th/7th with the top 5 places going to Mechanics or Auto Electricians. He beat all entered Panel Beaters & Spray Painters coming 1st across New Zealand & Australia in a panel and paint shop. Acrss New Zealand's applicants he placed 2nd with the winner being a mechanic.

Although he didn't place in the top 5 across the 4 industires, he was awarded tickets to attend the Capricorn Gala Dinner and Trade show in Auckland, and in our eyes he has completed and incredible achievement.
